Hello, I’m Michelle and I’m excited that you’re viewing my page, so here’s a little about me as you explore: I’m a family law attorney in the Chicago land area, and have been practicing since 2014. I’m a proud Cum Laude graduate from DePaul University College of Law, where I received a Specialization Certificate in Family Law .
Before moving to Chicago to start law school and my legal career, I was born and raised in Columbus Ohio. I graduated Magna Cum Laude from Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Public Administration with a minor in English Literature and History. I still very much enjoy reading classics and consuming historical fiction and non-fiction in my free time, and the occasional murder mystery!
When I was in law school, it was one of the most transformative times in my life. I focused a lot on service and was active in the DePaul Law community and continue to be an active alumni. A few highlights: I was a member of the DePaul Journal of Women, Gender, and the Law where I published an article, which you can check out here: https://via.library.depaul.edu/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=1019&context=jwgl. I also participated in a transformative Human Rights Practicum in Chiapas, Mexico where I learned about the indigenous cultures and Zapatistas. I also volunteered for and later lead a Service Immersion Trip in New Orleans where we helped to build new homes post Hurricane Katrina and served the homeless. Looking back, I reflect on my time in law school as preparing me not only for my legal carreer, but a career where I could serve others, and in particular families in crisis.
I now focus on serving my clients in the family law arena and serve on several boards in Chicagp. In particular I am a Co-Chair for the Chicago Bar Association Young Lawyer’s Section Family Law Committee; I am a member of the DePaul College of Law Family Law Alumnae Board; and, I am the Co-Chair for the Chicago Bar Association’s Alliance for Women. Service continues to be a core motiviator for me and a tenet I try to incorporate into my every-day.
